A little reminder of the icons on Joomeo…


As you will have noticed, we have made a few modifications to your media library. The icons representing your albums are bigger and therefore more visible. It’s probably a good time to remind ourselves of the meaning of each one.

THE ICONS OF YOUR ALBUMS

Your album is private, you have not shared it with any contacts.
As account administrator, you are the only person to have access to it..

Your album is only visible to you and to the contacts with which you share it.
You can obviously share the album with as many contacts as you wish.

Your album is « public », which means that it is visible by your contacts.
Your new contacts will automatically have access to it, as soon as you will have added them to your contacts on Joomeo.

INFO + : To make your album « public », go to the « SHARE » tab of the album’s properties section, then click on the « RESTRICT THE ACCESS » button, to move it into the « OFF » position, as indicated below:

A photo book has been created using the album.
You can manage the sharing of this photo book in the right hand column that appears when you click on the album. The sharing options relate to all of the contacts with whom the album has been shared.

SHARE MANAGEMENT

Have you noticed? Your Joomeo space has change a little in the past few days! This is because we have added a major feature to our system: PHOTO BOOK SHARING with your contacts!
We have also used this opportunity to include some other small improvements, which we'll talk about later.

Let's focus on our topic of the day: how to share your photo books with your contacts.

A new interface for new features

you'll notice that all the albums for which you have created photo books display an extra little icon at the end of the line, as in this image

by clicking on an album accompanied by this icon, you will see a new column to the right of your grid of images … it all happens in this column!

This column allows you to launch a view of your photo book in one click.

You can also edit your photo book, duplicate it or simply delete it.

Note that when you duplicate your photo book, you add a new album to your media library containing all the photos used in the book.

The main information regarding your photo book (format, paper, type of cover, number of pages and unit price) are immediately visible and and you can place your order directly from this column.

Sharing with your contacts is managed from this column ! In 2 clicks, you can choose whether or not you authorize your contacts to see your photo book and order it.

Of course, this authorization concerns only those contacts with whom you have shared the photo book album.

IMPORTANT: You can still access all your photo books directly by the photo book manager, which is accessible via the "PHOTO LAB / MY PHOTO BOOKS" menu.

2 additional new features for your comfort

Bigger icons to make the media library easier to read The most observant will have noticed that we have significantly enlarged the icons in the media library! Your albums and your folders are much more readable, for greatly improved comfort.

Improvement of the system of deletion of folders and their contents With the same aim of offering improved ergonomics and comfort, it is now possible to delete a folder and all its contents in a single stroke!

A gain of precious time when sorting your media library. But attention: any deletion is final!Once you have validated all the alerts of our system and accepted to delete the files from your personal space, it is impossible to go back and restore those files that were found only in the deleted folder! Be careful!

“How did you become a photographer?”

Olivier Lerme:
“I came to photography through music, my first passion.

After hanging out in my newrocks in many concert halls, the urge to convey the emotions raised by the performances of the artists became stronger and stronger.
When you attend a concert, the emotions you feel may be different from somebody else’s; it’s the same when you watch a photograph.
A photograph is a snapshot, a piece of life, an emotion, a testimony, a legacy.

If we take for granted that a photograph is the equivalent of a speech, we must wonder which emotions it has to convey, the way people will perceive it, what will they feel when watching it ?
As well as a song a photograph can be felt and interpreted in different ways.

Shooting a live concert is hard work because many factors intervene.
You have to master the intensity of the concerts, the feelings of the musicians; you have to take into account the lights and light effects, and you get a very short time since you can shoot during three or four songs only and try to retransmit a whole concert.

In order to make good concert photographs, you must understand and appreciate the artist and his universe (either mainstream, pop, trash or gothic), because you won’t shoot a black metal group as jazz or blues in the same way.
You have to react very quickly and be lucky because THE good snapshot can be taken at a unique time, you have to catch the right instant in your…

What I prefer when shooting a concert is playing with the lights, waiting for the moment when the artist is perfectly lit, and the expression on his face unique.”

JOOMEO DESKTOP – Transfer Manager, how Does It Work?

EASILY UPLOAD YOUR FILES from your computer to your Joomeo space or DOWNLOAD THEM FROM YOUR JOOMEO SPACE TO YOUR COMPUTER with JOOMEO DESKTOP-Transfer Manager
 

JOOMEO DESKTOP-TRANSFER MANAGER IS THE NEW PHOTO AND VIDEO TRANSFER MANAGEMENT TOOL (UPLOADS ET DOWNLOADS) PROVIDED BY JOOMEO. LET’S TAKE A LOOK AT HOW IT WORKS.

Download and install JOOMEO DESKTOP-Transfer Manager (consult the application’s installation procedure)
 

DOWNLOADING

To download your Joomeo files to your computer run the task from your Joomeo space. Here’s how:

  1. Log in to your selected Joomeo space and then select an album, a group of photos, or a file larger than 100MB.
     
  2. Start downloading with the ACTION” button in the selection, the album, or the file.
     
  3. In the window that pops up,choose the option "Use the JOOMEO DESKTOP-Transfer Manager application"and then click on "CONTINUE."
     
  4. You can then choose to install or run the application:
      If you have already installed JOOMEO DESKTOP-Transfer Manager, choose “RUN.”
      Otherwise, install the application.
        At the end of the procedure, go back to the “Use the JOOMEO DESKTOP-Transfer Manager
        application” window in Joomeo and click on “CONTINUE.”
     
  5. Select a destination folder on your computer where the files should be downloaded and confirm
    That’s it! JOOMEO DESKTOP-Transfer Manager has started your download.

IMPORTING

To upload files from your computer to Joomeo, run the task from your computer. Here’s how:

  1. Download, install, and run the JOOMEO DESKTOP-Transfer Manager application.
     
  2. Drag a folder or a file into the indicated area.
     

     
  3. Enter your login information
     

     
  4. Select an album or create one in your library, and confirm.
     

     
  5. The import begins and is displayed in the JOOMEO DESKTOP-Transfer Manager window. You can track its progress and manage it as you wish.
     

     

If you don’t want to use the drag/drop feature, then use these steps:

  1. Run the JOOMEO DESKTOP application.
     
  2. 2. Click on the “IMPORT” button in the top menu.
     

     
  3. 3. In the window that pops up, click on one of the two buttons provided. This allows you to select the elements to import into your space using your computer’s arborescence, without dragging and dropping.
     

     
  4. 4. You can also drag/drop into the indicated area.
     

     
  5. Enter your login information.
     
  6. Select an album, or create one in your library and then select it, and confirm.
     
  7. 7. The import begins and is displayed in the JOOMEO DESKTOP window. You can track its progress and manage it as you wish.
     

UNDERSTANDING HOW TO MANAGE YOUR UPLOADS AND DOWNLOADS WITH JOOMEO DESKTOP-TRANSFER MANAGER

The transfer encountered some errors. Some files were unable to be imported to your Joomeo space or downloaded to your computer
You have started downloading an album. Double-click on this icon to view the list of files in the album.
You have started importing a folder. Double-click on this icon to view the list of elements in the folder that was imported or is currently being imported (images or subfolders).
You have started transferring selected files. Double-click on this icon to view the list of files in this selection.
Preview a file in your download list.
Preview a file in your import list.

  This bar allows you a quick view of:

  • A file’s transfer progress (blue).
  • The album or selection’s transfer progress (dark gray).

JOOMEO DESKTOP-Transfer Manager’s buttons

Pause a transfer.
Resume a paused transfer.
Open the folder on your computer that you are transferring (folder transferred to Joomeo or folder receiving the download).
Delete a task.

  These buttons act globally, which means they act on all tasks displayed in a JOOMEO DESKTOP-Transfer Manager window at once. From left to right, they allow you to:

  • de Delete all finished tasks (those marked with this icon )
  • Stop all tasks that are in progress.
  • Resume all tasks that have been previously paused (those marked with this icon )
  • Delete all tasks with any status.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • JOOMEO DESKTOP-Transfer Manager is only required if you are transferring more than 1 GB of data at once (whether it’s an album or a selection containing several files, or just one file).
     
  • If you are only transferring one file that is under 100MB, you can use the download manager, our 100% online system that doesn’t require installation.
     
  • To transfer one file that is larger than 100MB, or a group of files that are under 1GB altogether, you may choose either of the transfer solutions.
     
  • The importing of photos or videos to your Joomeo space with JOOMEO DESKTOP-Transfer Manager is linked to your subscription’s characteristics. Consult our offer descriptions to find out what size files you can import with JOOMEO DESKTOP-Transfer Manager.
